Chocolate Weekend in the Puget Sound

Chocolatada Eros
Feast of Chocolate Delights
Hosted inside the only 100% organic chocolate factory

Theo Chocolate Factory
in the heart of the Fremont neighborhood
in Seattle at 3400 Phinney Ave N.
The latest in premium organic, fair trade, and specialty chocolate

Our Host Chef Gregory Lyons
served a delicious hot chocolatey coffee drink
to start the evening off with a kick

We enjoyed a lively tour from a
woman who works with Theo Chocolate

Then we just mingled and enjoyed as the many courses were served
each with their own chocolate personality

THE MENU

Refreshments:

La Chocolatada
pure bittersweet hot chocolate, coffee, and whipped cream with a caramel flourish

Eros Cup
a hazelnut chocolate cocktail

Chocolate Delights:

Grilled Chocolate Sandwiches

Six Hour Chocolate Braised Pork Shoulder

Black Bean Mole

Cilantro Salso

Saffron Rice

Desserts:

Panache of Fresh Fruits Topped with Chocolate Fondue

Tropical Night Brownies

Cupid's Souffle Truffles

Add to all of this the delectable samples we were given on the tour of the chocolate factory!
(you've got to try the curry chocolate bar)

The next chocolatada opportunities:
Wednesday June 21st - Ra
Saturday July 8th - Renaissance
Saturday August 5th - Leo the Lion
Saturday September 2nd - Dom
Saturday October 28th - Feast of the Dead
Saturday November 7th - The Way of Chocolate

Information and reservations: gregorylyons@mac.com

The next day was a visit to
The Chocolate Flower Farm on Whidbey Island

5040 Saratoga Road
Langley, WA 98260

Fell in love with this dark burgundy fringed tulip as a teenager
when I found them in the garden of my grandmother

After perusing the gorgeousness on display
I had to find out what it was that smelled so chocolate

This Cocoa Mulch gave the whole farm a cocoa butter scent
The owners informed me these cocoa husks
have been processed to be dog safe

It turned out they had chocolate chickens too

It was a beautiful spring day and the sun
was lovely shining through the leaves on the way home

On the way home it suddenly seemed everything was chocolate

Can't wait for my new poppies to bloom this summer!
